Following are the requirements for the white belt to attempt a grading to be promoted to 10th Kyu (Orange belt)

Gyaku - Reverse

Mawashi – Roundhouse

Seiken - Fist

Barai – Parry

Jodan – Head

Oi - Lunge

Chudan – Middle body

Kagi – Hook arm

Seiken – Fist

Dachi – Stance

Kansetsu - Joint

Shita – From below

Gedan – Lower body

Keage - Rising

Tsuki – Thrust (Punch)

Geri (Keri) – Kick

Keri (Geri) – Kick

Uke – Block

Heisoku Dachi (Closed foot stance), Musubi Dachi (Formal attention stance), Heiko Dachi (Parallel Stance), Shizen Dachi also known as Sotohachiji Dachi (Ready Stance), Sanchin Dachi (Three points stance), Zenkutsu Dachi (Front stance), Kumite Dachi (Fighting stance)

  • Flexibility: Head reaches the floor from a seated position with legs open.
  • Push-ups: 20
  • Jumping Squats: 20
  • Handstand: 20 seconds (supported by another person)
  • Chin-ups: 3
  • Jump (Tobi Geri): to a target the level of your own height
